A Bachelor of Arts in Social Work is an undergraduate degree program that prepares students for a career in social work. It equips students with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to address social issues, advocate for vulnerable populations, and contribute to positive social change. The program provides students with a solid foundation in social work theory, values, and ethics. Students learn about the historical and theoretical underpinnings of social work, the values of social justice, human rights, and dignity, and the ethical responsibilities of social workers. Students study social issues such as poverty, inequality, discrimination, mental health, substance abuse, child welfare, and aging. They develop an understanding of the root causes and consequences of these issues and explore how social policies and interventions can address them.
BSW is a Bachelor level social work course that aims to impart up-to-date knowledge of basic theories and methods of social work. Bachelor of social work (BSW) in Nepal is a four-year program that was first run by TB. BSW course in Nepal teaches students the basics of sociology which helps them be social workers by enabling them to analyze social relationships, social satisfaction, social problem, etc. BSW course is implemented.
